This film is also known as Jangsari: Forgotten Heroes. Battle of Jangsari was directed by Kwak Kyung Taek. Previously, Kwak Kyung Taek was a director for RV: Resurrected Victims (2017). Kwak Kyung Taek was assisted by Kim Tae Hoon who directed Drakor Iris 2 and Athena: Goddess of War.
The Battle of Jangsari screenplay was written by Lee Man Hee. The story is taken from the true story of The Battle of Jangsari which occurred on September 14-15, 1950 in Jangsari, Yeongdeok, North Gyeongsang, South Korea.
Synopsis of the Battle of Jangsari
The story is about guerrilla units led by Captain Lee Myung Joon (Kim Myung-Min) and 772 student soldiers. In the group was Choi Sung Pil who was on the Moonsanho ship. Their destination is Jangsari.
They have a mission to trick North Korea into thinking that opposition forces will launch a determined invasion. The actual invasion and battle will occur in Incheon one day later. The average age of student soldiers is 17 years and they only attend training for 3 weeks.
